The leather is very soft to touch, so comfortable from the very first time you wear them. They have a very subtle print finish, but the leather is smooth and flat still. Of course, being original Dr Martens they have the trademark cushioned sole unit. However they don't have the yellow stitching, a rare finish by this brand. These are a UK size
