Germany, Luftschutz. An Air Raid Protection “Gladiator” Helmet, C.1939 GTRexclude Sergeant Alexander Walker(Luftschutzwarndiensthelm). Instituted 1939. Constructed of steel (magnetic) in the shape of the traditional Gladiator style, with its original dark blue exterior, with a winged Luftschutz insignia applique in silver on the front. It consists of a large dome, with a large two piece brim around the helmet. It features two clusters of seven small air vents on either side, with a smooth finished edge along the entire helmet.
