A circular bronze medal, the obverse depicting the leftward facing effigy of Charles I of Brunswick, circumscribed Carl Herzog zu Braunschweig in capitalized lettering, the reverse inscribed Fr Militr Verdienste 1815 in capitalized lettering within stems of laurel and oak leaves, on a fixed loop and replacement swivel ring for suspension from its short period original ribbon, measuring 33. 5 mm in
