Oldenburg, Grand Duchy. A Friedrich August Cross United Republic of French Republic Medal ("Republique Française"(Friedrich August Kreuz). Constructed of blackened magnetic metal, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse with a central monogram of Friedrich August, the six oclock arm with a date of 1914, the twelve oclock arm with a royal crown, with a laurel wreath through the quadrants, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 45. 52 mm (w) x 45. 12 mm (h), weighing 27. 1 grams, in very fine condition.
