Germany, Empire. An Aviator’s Aeroplane Wing Desk Ashtray Newly Listed 1888 in Laurence KirkThis ashtray is constructed of a wood core in the shape of a cross section of a wing that is hollowed out to allow for ashes to be placed from the tray into it. The tray itself is constructed of brass with a bowl in a dotted design, with three pebbled platforms to accommodate a lit cigarette. On the exterior of the wooden piece is an applique of an early airplane with a black enameled Iron Cross on each wing. The bottom of the ashtray is lined with a
