Germany, Imperial. A Brunswick War Merit Cross, I Class, C.1914 Newly Listed obverse illustrating poultry in a(Braunschweigisches Kriegsverdienstkreuz). Instituted 23 October 1914 by Ernest Augustus, Duke of Brunswick. A bronze cross paty, the obverse bears he cipher EA in the centre for Duke Ernest Augustus, the 12 oclock arm bears a crown, the 9 and 3 oclock arms bear sprigs of oak leaves and the 6 oclock arm bears the date 1914, the reverse bears a vertical pinback, measuring 39. 32 mm (w) x 39. 72 mm (h), very fine.
