Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a multi coloured enameled TeNo insignia within a cogwheel, in turn overlaying a ribbed gilt diamond, flanked by oak leaves and above a ribbon bearing a date of 1921, topped by a German national eagle, the reverse with a block hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, engraved with issue number 2984, the pinback maker marked WILHELM
