Saxe-Altenburg, Duchy. A Duke Ernst II Medal, Type II, Civil Division Newly Listed Ontario in November 1895(Herzog Ernst Medaille). Instituted 1 August 1909 by Duke Ernst II. (1909 1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon configured into a parade mount with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a raised and rightward facing profile of Duke Ernst II, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central raised monogram of the former, situated within a circular laurel wreath, unmarked, measuring
