base and original inner-spring cushions have been professionally reupholstered in a blue-grey wool that contrasts beautifully with the warm solid teak frame

Nicely worn Redwood planks were added sometime in it's early history. Slots for a tray exists on either side underneath the top. Perhaps for cheese making.
