A Wartime Patriotic Medal 1914 Newly Listed Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DKR) Officer’sAn ovular medal constructed of bronze, the obverse bears a knight slaying a dragon with a sword, underneath is the inscription DAS GROSSE DRESCHEN (THE GREAT THRASHING), the reverse bears the inscription LIEB VATERLAND MAGST RUHIG SEIN 1914 (DEAR FATHERLAND MAY BE QUIET), encompassed by an oak leaf wreath, with ornate suspension on a long thin black ribbon, measuring 37. 97 mm (w) x56. 68 mm (h), very fine.
