The microscope functions properly and smoothly raises up and down over the solid bronze stage. The mirror underneath swings right and left and rotates to different strengths. Stamped on the base with the maker and serial No. 25889 which dates to 1892. The wooden traveling case has a brass handle and three pull out boxes housing different lens and several metal, wood and glass
