An iconic figure of the bossa nova movement, he helped introduce Brazilian music to the world in the late 1950s and 1960s. Bonf achieved international fame for his work on Black Orpheus, a film that won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Trained in classical guitar, he developed a highly personal style, combining technical precision with profound
