I'd assume from high school

my inclinations lean toward rescuing and retrieving things that might not otherwise be readily appreciated

making it look rather like a cat

Great patina

Playing with Pompey c. 1830s Staffordshire Child’s Mug cardboard figure Cohen's work is also includedAs far as I can tell this is a pretty rare one, Staffordshire, c. 1830s. The text reads "Playing with Pompey"; apparently Pompey was a popular dog name in the early 19th century, perhaps deriving from the famous dog of William the Silent, Prince of Orange, whose barking thwarted an assassination attempt! Pretty cute and bouncy little pup here, and I love the girl with her hoop and basket. Transfer decorated with hand painted color. 2 7 8 d x 3 3 4
