This is a very nice early pattern U. S. WWI Issue Map & dispatch case, complete with its original leather shoulder strap. It is nicely stamped U. S. on front and marked under the closure flap: L. N. GROSS CO. 7 16 We are not entirely sure on the date, but it definitely has a 1 as the first number, so this is WWI Issue. Unlike later war and WWII map cases, this does not have any internal compartments, which were added
