That sealed the deal since I have a bit of an obsession with puppets of late (and also with many things French)

so the split near the top of it is what makes this a bit fragile now--but it's stable and just fine for propping or hanging somewhere

only interrupted by the whites of the eyes and tusks (and a bit of red at the mouth) and then just the right green for the base

Darned and darned and darned some more, heel, toe, top, bottom, and up the back pure darning terminating in a point that makes the whole think look a little like a Jack in the Pulpit. What a wonder, and about as pure an embodiment of endurance, and resilience, and labor born of necessity as one could imagine. Though not the least bit religious,
