This is an extremely scarce bayonet scabbard produced for the Finnish Army and Civil Guard. According to Kiesling, the Civil Guard ordered 10,000 bayonets in 1941, most were scrapped in the 1970's. This example is the scabbard only, not the bayonet. There is a good amount of verdigris on the metal fittings of the scabbard as shown. The scabbard still retains its lower metal plate and belt loop.
