This is a magnificently made Champagne Corkscrew Tap designed to screw through the cork of larger size bottles such as a Magnum or Jeroboam. This allowed the champagne or wine inside to be accessed in a controlled manner using the spigot on the end. A very clever way to preserve the massive amount of wine being accessed.
