it's been in this black painted wooden frame for a very long time

And I believe there would originally have been nine of them

and some staining around the rim on the underside

Miniature Red and Blue Two Drawer Cigar Box Chest DO all to the the goodThis sweet, cheerful miniature chest stands 6 inches tall, and I'd think was lovingly crafted by a parent or grandparent to house doll clothes or dishes or who knows what all? Removing the drawers reveals the top of the chest at least was made from cigar box wood, and the underside of the drawers suggests maybe soap boxes? A terrific blue and red paint job makes it pop, with orange on the the knobs. 1940s or so I'd think? 6" tall x 5" wide x 4 3 8"
