it is hard to look at these and not think of both Joseph and Anni Albers as well as Ellsworth Kelly

this is a perfect set to play with as well as to admire--and  it's quite a nice thing to have the choice of straight or bent hook depending on the form of the jack straw one is trying to lift

but the piece is reinforced on the back (see photos) and hangs fine

with lush cobalt blue hand-painted ginkgo leaf design over white glaze

Plus, its just the time of year to put this one to use serving a holiday meal! Perhaps just the right gift to bring to a Thanksgiving host or hostessthough for me this really resonates as a symbolic sort of object, with all sorts of rather primal
