This is a very nice all original service worn example of a German WWII M40 helmet, issued to the Heer (Army). This stamped sheet steel construction helmet retains some of its original lightly textured field gray paint but does show some chipping, scratches, and rust, typical of a helmet that was used in the field. There are some areas of wear through, and a whitish haze over the exterior, which indicates that the
