The case head originally had one yellow dot

which was fitted with recoil springs to take firing loads off the bipod

It is decorated with a well detailed silvered aluminum eagle insignia on the peak and and an open silvered aluminum wreath surrounding a tri-colour cockade on the band

Produced after 1938 when NSDAP Germany "annexed" Austria these examples were produced in 1940/41 (showing dates) and bear German WW2 Markings
