A serious short-fall in available numbers and the growing threat of NSDAP Germany obliged the French Army to extend conscription to two years under the Law of 16 March 1935

They have a full set of pockets regardless of which side is being worn on the outside

Definitely some interesting markings worthy of further research

This was a much straighter design than used previously

in August 1940
