This is a very nice example of the very hard to find Springfield Model 1896 KragJrgensen Carbine, which still has an intact saddle ring and sight guard. It does look to have had the stock reconditioned and varnished at some point, which has made the stock markings faint. Also the bolt and maybe the magazine floor plate may have been reblued at this time. It measures approximately 41 inches (1,042 mm) in overall
