The material has been polished to display the fascinating feather patterns of the shell's sutures. These adaptations created a stronger shell to protect the ammonite from predators millions of years ago. The ammonite shell is displayed in a custom made, sterling silver bezel which is strung on a wheat style chain. The chain measures 18 inches (~45cm) and is also
