Beautiful Form: Antique Cast Iron Dome with Old Paint Traces long wooden box the first vessel to beI presume this antique cast iron half sphere was made to hang straight down via its four perimeter holes. With traces of orange gold paint still holding on, it feels to me as if it might have lived in a holy space, but I really have no idea. Whatever the case, it appears quite old, and I just find the domed form, with scalloped pattern around the edge and fourteen ribs running to the top, just a satisfying thing. 4 7 16" d x 3" t. Very good antique
