The carving itself is great
some still tipped in yellow paint
or a just a tender little drawing or watercolor or photograph--or a great one for framing and gifting a photo of oneself
which in turn has been mounted on a 8"x 10" piece mat board that at some point was annotated by a seller
but it might shine up a bit more)
Marvelous Antique Lumberjack (or Jill?) with One Nail Eye and Painted Embellishment female carved doll The carving itself is greatA charmer of an old folk art limberjack or dancing doll, who does look to once have had arms as well, but, as is, reads as if they might be folded across the chest, giving some attitude. (Most likely though, it seems to me, this limberjack is meant to be female.) Im sure s he once had a second nail eye as well, but with only one remaining appears to be giving a somewhat defiant side glance! Wonderful spread of blue painted dots across the upper chest,
