It was very unusual for Imperial Germany to copy anybody's else's weapon design, but that is exactly what this item appears to be. Marked J. K. over serial number 27405., this appears to copy very closely the Remington MK. III, made between 1915 and 1918. It has the "spur" style trigger, the same shaped grip, and is about the same size. The main difference is the German version has an all steel frame as opposed to
