I'm pretty certain the bristles here are squirrel hair

with those beautiful tall capital letters and dates stamped into it

and really love the cutout windows at the the helm and the tiny steering wheel one can spy from above

I believe the year on the postmark on reverse is 1904

15 3/4" x 11 3/4" and in very good condition
