This is a lovely Merriam knapsack utilized during the Spanish American War. This example has a great inspection stamp on the interior which dates it to 1898, perfect for SAW issue. The front of the pack has stenciled markings A 14 likely for Company A, 14th Infantry, with a 33 stenciled below. The straps are in fair crazed condition but there are some pieces missing with one strap having broken off but is included. A
