This is a standard M1910 aluminum canteen made in 1918 by Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Co of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and stamped on the reverse: U. S. AGM Co. 1918 However, this is not just an ordinary canteen but a canvas for a very skilled (and bored) engraver (soldier) of the Motor Transport Corps, who engraved the insignia of the corps on the canteen: A Winged Helmet of Mercury superimposed over a wheel. They also
