The hackamore combo is a jaw piece with leverage that gives pressure on the nose, chin, and mouth. The longer the shanks of the hackamore, the stronger the effect. This combination with short shanks has a less sharp effect than the long hackamore combo. These bits are often used with very enthusiastic horses on the trail. Due to the leverage, this is a fairly sharp bit and therefore not
