This is a great example of an American Revolutionary War era socket bayonet. These bayonets were blacksmith made copies of the British Early Land Pattern Brown Bess socket bayonet, which is how most American bayonets of the era were designed & made. Although crude by European standards, this bayonet is a fairly refined example of the non regulation bayonets made during the Revolutionary War. This example probably
