It looks to me that there are at least four different hardwoods used and they are all pretty spectacular

and a lightly scratched patch of gridded lines on the other with some more numbers above

17 1/2" t x 9 3/4" w x 2" d and in very good shape

7 1/2" x 5 1/2" I think maybe tempera on wood panel

Beautiful Old Faithful c. 1920s Box of Chalk brass button guard It looks to me thatThis is the second box of Old Faithful "Sterling" chalk I've found, and I'll keep buying them when I found them, as much to look at as to use. Though not quite as fine as the American Crayon Company's "Waltham" chalk, sold for just "a trifle more" as noted on one side of the box, it's pretty fabulous chalk definitely incentive to find an old slate chalkboard if one doesn't have on already. I especially love the gently tapering shape with rounded tip
