What an extraordinarily beautiful basket I think this is

Though neither dated nor numbered

and then the shoes have been painted with a terrific amount of detail: patterns of stripes

This one I believe would be referred to as an "occupational" painting

I don't think this one is especially old; the wood on the handle of one side reads "Real Ebony" and the other bears some text I cannot read followed by "France." On one short side of the handle are five little inlaid bits that look like bone. I believe intended as a clothes brush, but certainly useful for all sorts of things,
