This is an interesting Post WWII example of a Soviet SPSh 44 Flare pistol which was modified into a 90mm AL 1 Line Throwing Pistol. These would be used to create links between ships to save survivors. It is marked on the left side of the frame with the designation, serial number, and year of production, 1963. It still retains the handle well. The barrel shows heavy paint loss and oxidation, but the frame has held up
