Description

Childs in 1868

and I'd guess this one dates to the mid-20th century or so

I stumbled across this gorgeous double sided one

to be held with two hands horizontally to play

I've found just a few other Odd Fellows hooked rugs from the late 19th and early 20th century

Very Fine Cut Paper Weaving #3 (Teapot!) painted snake stick Childs in 1868I just found three of these lovely old cut paper weavings, listed individually, and think they must have been done by a very dexterous and meticulous school girl, or more likely her teacher, as they are quite finely crafted. This one is burgundy and silver, and the first I've seen that is pictorial, woven to form a teapot! The paper weaving is neatly mounted on a piece of cream colored lightweight cardstock type paper. Overall: 9 1 8" x 9 1 8".
