This is an estate we were introduced to by Klaus Peter Keller

as opposed to the more typical tuffeau

and iron levels are high

followed by élevage for 15–16 months in French oak barrels (about 40% new)

2024 Vino di Anna 'Jeudi 15' Rosato, Sicily, Italy Cynar 100% Old vine Beier fromOrganic. 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Grecanico. The Nerello Mascalese was placed in a 30hl open fermenter for 36 hours, half was whole cluster and half was destemmed. The grapes were then pressed into a used 20hl oak cask for fermentation. The Grecanico was given 5 days of skin contact in steel and then added to the fermenting must. Upon completion of the alcoholic fermentation, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation.
