It is a simple form of hand rest, by which the forearm and hand are steadied, making the act of writing comparatively independent of the vibration of the moving car. It consists of a tablet for holding the pad of writing paper, and arranged to be held steady by a cord passing around its upper end and hooked into the overhead bracket, and by a
