The Camisards were French Protestants (Huguenots) of the isolated Cvennes region of south central France. The group faced persecution following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685, raising an insurrection in 1702 known as the war of the Camisards. One even in particular triggered the war: In mid July of 1702, Father du Chayla, the leader of 75
