Taiga Takahashi favored denim from lesser known store based brands, particularly Foremost by J. C. Penney, which began producing denim in the 1920s by imitating established brands before developing their own styles. Takahashi collected these vintage denims, studying the subtle design experiments that distinguished them, and recreated that creative spirit in his originals. Woven from
