Roosevelt is remembered for his leadership in the Progressive Movement and for his conservation efforts. He went on an African safari after his presidency to east and central Africa, and traveled to Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and then followed the Nile river to Sudan. There, he produced several animal specimens for the Smithsonian Institute. As
